It was in the 1960's that Titan conveyor idlers were developed
to meet the new demands of reliable equipment for the BHP
Group.
The extensive research and development by BHP Engineering
personnel has provided a robust and reliable product, suitable
for most conveyor applications encountered in modern day
designs.
Titan was taken over by 'TYTON' in June 1988, with the product
reliability maintained and design improvements ongoing.
Tyton is still widely used by BHP Slab and Plate Port Kembla,
BHP Collieries and many other collieries in New South Wales
and Queensland, together with many other industries such
as Quarries, Sugar Mills, Gold Mines, Iron Ore Plants and
Grain Handling throughout Australia.
Tyton has developed a viable export market and has had success
in this arena. In late 2006 Tyton became part of the Valley
Longwall International team, which will further enhance our
product in the market place."
